Machine Design Leader

This is a direct hire position. Pay $80-100K
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a Mechanical Engineering Design field, and 7-10 years of technical experience in the design and optimization of rubber and tire manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of machiningprocesses, design for manufacturability and CAD CAM systems
Dimensional verification, testing andvalidationModeling steel structures using structural drawings.
Preparing design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Inventor and Solidworks.
Participating in the part design, manufacturing, assembly and installations.
Knowledge of 3D printing and prototyping.
Performing engineering calculations with respect to strength of material, speed, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force etc., as related to machine and tool designs.
Providing mechanical and structural engineering input and ideas to project teams for new product concepts and product optimizations.Knowledge of some of the following tools: HyperMesh, CREO, CAD, CAE, FEA, DFMEA, GD&T, DVP&R, ERP, SAP, MES, SCADA, DCS, PLC, HMI and Design Optimization.
Performed DVP&R for dimension, material, performance and durability test.
Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, stack-ups, fits and finishes.
Able to provide support for the suppliers regarding Hydraulics, pneumatics, or other commercial items used for the design of equipment.
Knowledge of machine testing, dry run and commissioning procedures.
Knowledge of Smart Manufacturing is an asset.
General Responsibilities and Functions:
Create conceptual design, design analysis, mechanical CAD concept design and detailing.
Convert the design, concept and ideas to mechanical drawings using CAD solutions.
Create new machine designs as well as engineering design changes and modifications.
Generate concept drawings from rough sketches and ideas.
Select components and sensors
Integrate FEA with software such as Solidworksand ABAQUS.
Prepare 2D and 3D designs for manufacturing and prototyping
Develop detailed designs for complex integrated systems requiring mechanical design and electrical integration, such as rubber mixers, extruder line design for tire components, tire building machines, and or tire curing presses.
Generate shop floor drawings and BOMs.
Create material specifications and test procedures.
Plan projects, assign work to team members and resolve project issues.
Tested the designs in order to perfect them and meet customer performance requirements.
Perform function analysis for machine components and redesign plan if necessary.
Select manufacturing processes based on design for manufacturability for all components of the system.
Conduct assembly and disassembly analysis based on design for maintainability.
Estimate cost for the designed system.
